The
2001 ASA Am and Pro competition in Milwaukee brought out a few new faces.
When I saw Kelly, I was impressed with her marathon skating abilities;
out of all the girls, she stayed sessioning on the park course for hours.
She skates both park and vert and works at her local public skate park,
Four Seasons Skate Park in Milwaukee.
After
three years of skating in her local parks, she decided to try competing.
Although she has no desire to become Pro, she tried the ASA am division
in 2000 and qualified for the ASA finals in Las Vegas.
“ It was a great experience and it was cool to skate with that many
girls at once,” says Kelly.
Kelly placed fourth in street out of 12 girls at the 2000 ASA Am Championship. She liked it so much she decided to compete again in the ASA Am comp in Milwaukee in July 2001.
Kelly
is
also an avid skateboarder
and snowboarder. She grew up studying
all
types
of dance, ballet, jazz and her favorite tap.
She is currently a student at UWM majoring in health fitness
management. |
